Today is one of the biggest sightseeing days yet as we drove up to the top of Scotland. We started by going around the Cromarty Firth. It was very pretty especially going across the bridge with the views out to sea.
The first place we stopped at had the nicest toilets in Europe! Of course we had to have a coffee before going down to the beach and back to the car. Loads of rolling hills which Dad seemed to get excited about and I must say the views were pretty incredible. We drove past a very grand castle on the way.
The next stop used to be the third largest herring fishing port called Lybster. For some reason the water was brownish red, I wonder why?
We had lunch there and met an interesting man who we chatted with for a while. Next we drove through the picturesque town of Wick and we continued on to John O’ Groats. From the car park at the light house, a short walk took us down to the spectacular Stacks of Duncansby.
We had superb views from the track. It was one of the best things yet. Not only did we see the Stacks but also a huge bird colony nesting on a rock face!
Lastly we drove to Thurso, a very pleasant town where we got scrumptious hot chips and had a nice walk around. My conclusion is: Scotland is a very pretty place.

Nice to see monkey but I forget his name. Who were all the other members of his family in the photo?
